Today we have opened a new Kohgen Maker`s Pier Store!

Grand Open of our new Kohgen Maker`s Pier Store!

We have made all the preparations in advance and the store is running since its pre-open on March 13th, but today we had the Grand Open!

Today, there was a Grand Open of a shopping district called Maker`s Pier in Nagoya, so our new store which is located there had also its opening today!

Maker`s Pier is located just in front of Legoland Japan, so there were plenty of customers today. Some of them have seen our incense making workshop on the television broadcasts we have had previously and wanted to try to make fragrant sachets themselves!
(There was also a Customer who has visited both our Main Store in Nagoya and the new Maker`s Pier Store today!)

We are very grateful to all of our Customers!

Maker`s Pier is a unique shopping district where you can enjoy making many different things at many different stores and restaurants.

At our Kohgen store, you can create your personal fragrance sachet (nioibukuro), so we recommend to visit us with your family or friends and then exchange the sachets you created♪
(You can also make the fragrant sachets at our stores in Nagoya and Tokyo!)

[Media About Us] We have taken part in “Mutsumi`s Super Tuesday” broadcast on MID-FM!

Master Katsura Koharudanji – Kamigata-style rakugo comedy storyteller has participated in the “Mutsumi`s Super Tuesday” broadcast on MID-FM together with our Kohgen store owner Kikuya!

The broadcast was a PR for a rakugo comedy event planned at Small Theatre in Nakamura District Culture Center on April 19th. It seems that our owner was invited to make the stream more lively 😉

The friendly relationship between Master Katsura Koharudanji and owner Kikuya lasts for over 10 years already.
What is more, we are holding the Rakugo event every year at Small Theatre in Nakamura District Culture Center to show our gratitude to our Customers.

Thanks to those two relations it was possible to organize an original rakugo event of Master Katsura Koharudanji. This time it will be the second edition!
Nagoya will become even more lively, what makes us happy!
We hope that from now on it will be possible to keep up organizing the rakugo events.

Report from Incense Making Workshops

Hello Incense Lovers!

Lately, we receive a lot of applications for incense making workshops!

We are very happy that the number of people interested in Japanese incense is constantly growing!

When you are making the incense yourself, you are able to create your own compounding and you can feel more attached to the aroma.

Our guest, who attended the workshop on Monday, was very skillful at making the shapes. We were impressed!

Here you can see the incense sticks, oils, cones and kneaded incense made during the workshop.

We were very happy to hear the positive feedback from our attendees!

On Tuesday, there were two attendees who are getting along very well, who created a very peaceful atmosphere.

The incenses were made while talking about many different topics, but when it came to making the shapes, they were very focused on their task.
This is how the unique in shape and expressing the personalities incenses came into existence.

We held a seminar for Japanese Incense Manufacturers at Nagoya Kohgen Store!

We have organized a seminar for Japanese Incense Manufacturers at Nagoya Kohgen Store!

The meeting took place in the Seminar Room on the second floor of our store and the main topic was “The Future of Incense”.

There were 15 Japanese incense making companies that attended the seminar. (We were very happy to host well-known top Japanese incense makers!)

During the seminar, our owner Kikuya had a speech and carried out Listening to Incense (Mon-koh) game. All the attendees could experience the fragrances and guess the answers.

Almost all attendees gave the right answers!
After all, all of them are professionalists who create fragrances.

Unique Incense Making Workshops

Today we had many guests attending incense making workshops at all 3 Kohgen stores in Japan.

Among them, there were two little brothers who were making fragrant bags and incense cones!

This time they were figuring out what other shapes are possible♪ Btw. when you look at the second photo there is “1+1=2” written in Japanese characters made of incense sticks!(^^)

We would also like to thank a couple of foreigners who took part in the kneaded incense making class in English. We hope you enjoyed both the class and your stay in Nagoya!
